We are pleased to announce that the Revd Katie Kelly will be be next vicar of St James and St Anne's Bermondsey
Katie writes...
I’m delighted to have been asked to return to Bermondsey as the next vicar of St James with St Anne’s. I moved to the area in 1996 with my husband and baby daughter. One daughter became four and raising a family here gave me a great opportunity to get to know the community. I worked and volunteered in various ways with families and then with women in prison and probation, setting up the Southwark Women’s hub in 2017. Having been selected for ordained ministry I trained at Wycliffe College and then moved to Mottingham in 2021 to begin my Curacy where I have been pioneering a fresh expression of church with families. I enjoy walking, especially by the river, finding excuses to celebrate with people, and the theatre. I am very much looking forward to getting to know the parish and seeing where God leads us together.
Katie will be moving back to Bermondsey on completion of her curacy early in 2024. We will be praying for her and the rest of the family while we await her arrival
